Save The Dates: For The Budget Conscious Bride

02.24.2019

So you’re getting married, eh?

If you’re like me, you quickly have realized just how expensive everything and anything with the word “wedding” truly is. I mean, I can’t count the times that Nick and I said, “Dang, we picked the wrong industry to work in!” All jokes aside, weddings are a little bit of a racket.

As we are paying for the wedding ourselves and are definitely not the types of people who would spend $20,000 on a single day, we have been making every effort to be as budget conscious as possible. That being said, we are still trying to be realistic.

When it came to our Save The Dates, we searched many different printing sites. I’m talking Minted, Shutterfly, FedEx, and more.

After quite a bit of research online and in socializing with other brides-to-be, I realized that none of these companies came close in price to VistaPrint. It is also important to note that I didn’t want to sacrifice quality in my search. Sure, I knew they may not end up being foiled and fancy dancy…but I wanted them to look professional and polished.

Price

I knew Vistaprint was going to be the site we chose when seeing that the average price per card was well under a dollar.

There are different price points to choose from, so don’t worry if you aren’t seeing one you like right away!

Design

Vistaprint has hundreds of pre-designed Save The Dates and you can find templates to fit your wedding colors fairly easily!

You can also create your own Save The Date by personalizing one of the pre-designed templates! This is what we ended up doing in order to create more of a unique look.

Checkout Process

When you are ready to purchase your Save The Dates and go to check out, you will probably notice that Vistaprint will try to sell you on some additional product offerings. (I ended up caving and added some address labels to my order. You got me, Vistaprint. You got me good.)

When you get to the coupon section, hold up!

Be sure to let Ebates apply any coupons in order to find the best possible deal! This tip is handy even if you do not end up going through Vistaprint, as Ebates will not only apply the best coupon code but you’ll also get cash back on your purchase. Score!

If you are unfamiliar with this splendid savings tool, check out my post on Ebates. Or you can trust me on this one and sign up with my Ebates referral link! You will get $10 after making your first purchase! Yay for free $$$!

Ebates actually had a WAY better coupon than what Vistaprint was offering. To the tune of 60% off my purchase. Boo-ya!

Coupon offers always change so the percentage may be different when you are making your purchase.

They showed up looking just as awesome as they did online and we were able to check one more thing off our Wedding Checklist!

Woot woot!

Note: My order was supposed to come with free envelopes. When I received my Save The Dates less than a week later, there were no envelopes. I called Vistaprint and their Customer Service team was amazeballs. They rush shipped my envelopes (even though I said it wasn’t urgent) and I received them within 2 days.

I’ve heard of Vistaprint before but only really used it for printing business cards. Such a great idea to use it for save the date cards.

We absolutely loved them and will probably use them for our actual wedding invitations, too! 🙂
